The grass was once greener
The skeletons were happy in their slumber.
Resting; peacefully in their graves,
every one of them smiled a toothy smile.
Their minds were free of the burden
they had been placed beneath.
As I looked upon their graves
and their stone covered coffins,
I realized the skeletons were in
a silent, peaceful slumber.
A moment of unrest and bones
trying to rise, started a percussional jam.
They creaked and they groaned
as the long dead spirits
struggled to drag themselves from their graves.
They were lost in a world of hope,
flirting, with despair. Missing lips screamed
for redemption, for they had never known
true happiness.
I looked upon those skeletons
with a touch of pity that day.
Those happy skeletons were in a better place.
